Steeping Beauty, 3D ver. by Louistrations Steeping Beauty, 3D ver. by Louistrations
This is a 3D anaglyph image, to view the normal deviation without the 3D artifacts please click here.

To view this image you'll need to use the standard red and cyan 3D glasses. I've also uploaded a couple of variations on my website, including one for use with the retro red and green glasses.

If you have trouble focusing, please try sitting away from the computer.

Anaglyph images fascinated me when I was little. In the early nineties I used to try and make my own using red and green pens, with limited success. Anaglyphs have seen a resurgence lately and I figured I'd give making my own another go. The difference being that this time I have a computer.

If you don't have any 3D glasses, you should try your best to find some! There's some really fantastic 3D photography right here on deviantART!

Update: If you have access to a Nintendo 3DS, you can view this picture in 3D by navigating to louistrations.co.uk/3d using the built-in web browser.

over done it?? not at all. you played realy nice with the depth you realy got an eye for it. How long did you manage to have it correct and how did you do it? most time's when i try it with 2D drawings some image's ghost over each other even when i have the correct color code and all because the image just plain is two time's in the picture :p.

Looks awesome, works well.

The pillow at the end of the divan is a bit screwy on focusing, though.

i think it's a good photo but it seems that the focus is on the pastries in the foreground and not her. The reason is because there is very little offset of the red/cyan with those and that is how you place the focus in the picture with these. When you look at her the cyan and red are offset a lot from the color part and with my glasses on I can see the red part of her separate so it doesn't merge well. I would try doing another and making the offset on her, the focal point of the image, only very slight. It doesn't take much at all to get the 3D affect, after all, our eyes are only a few inches apart.

Many thanks for the comment, there's a lot of good advice in there! This was the first anaglyph that I attempted so I was making it up as I went along. I had the idea of having it like a window with all of the depth going into the screen; but I can see that having the character as the focus would be better. I'll also admit that I probably went a little overboard with the level of depth in the picture, but it's something that I can work on in the future. :-)

So sorry, I have trouble looking at the cross eye versions myself so it's difficult for me to test anything I make. It's something that I'll look into though. (Pun not intended!)

Hey! Louis.

This was too good. I really like this one. I am also anaglyph artist from India.

I have worked with almost every software available in net or offline to create 3D anaglyph. However, I have my special way of converting and 2D image to 3D. Please to also check my gallery at deviantart under Anaglyph 3D

Thanks. And keep up the good work.
